10/22-23
On Tuesday, we went to one of the most unusual, fascinating places I've ever seen: Civita di Bagnoregio. Sitting high and isolated on a peak, and only accessed by foot-bridge, this medieval town seems like something from a Disney movie (where is Sleeping Beauty?).

Gary enjoyed finding this ancient olive oil mill again-same place he visited with Steph 4years ago.

Living on the farm, we expected a rooster crowing in the morning. What we didn't expect as an alarm clock, was the braying of a donkey. The Rondini's recently acquired Gilda, a one-year old wild little thing, prone to biting. Within two days, Gary had her pretty tamed! Gilda's job on the farm is to eat the grass; as opposed to a goat, which would climb up and eat the olives.

After a morning bike ride through the neighboring farm lanes, we set off to Perugia for the International Chocolate Festival on Wednesday.
Not too crowded mid-week, but this 8-day festival attracts over one million visitors. Lots of stands selling chocolate, and in many forms. I had a cup of liquid chocolate with cream, and Gary had a chocolate cappuccino. All very fun!
